Welcome to my post for Feature and Follow Friday. This meme is the brainchild of Alison at Alison Can Read and Rachel at Parajunkee’s View.
Each week, in addition to a question to answer, one of the previous week’s participants will be randomly selected by each host for an interview (hence the Feature portion of the meme). This week’s featured bloggers are Sugar and Snark (they are from South Africa! Shout out! I lived in Sandton once!) and Books Are the Only True Magic.
Here’s this week’s question:
What is the last book that kept you up late into the night just to finish it?
I will have to amend this question a little, since I almost always read late into the night, even books that I don’t like too much. So, I will add at the end: “because you couldn’t put it down.” To figure out the very last one, I had to consult my Goodreads page that shows what I’ve read. The first one I came to was the most recently published Charley Davidson book Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet by Darynda Jones. Every book in this adult series is full of mystery, paranormals, snark and (drool) Reyes. I would say that Libba Bray’s The Diviners had that affect on me as well. Such a fabulous concoction of the 1920s, jazz babies, evil, the supernatural and lingo that’s the bee’s knees.

Put on your TBR list! Both are great.
Thanks for the comment!
I haven’t read either of these, but The Diviners is definitely a book I want to read ASAP. Glad to hear that you couldn’t put it down.
It’s HUUUUUUGE! I had just seen Libba Bray at the Austin Teen Book Festival, so I was super inspired to read it. I had only read Beauty Queens, which I liked. Diviners is WAAAAY different than that. SO much research done on the time period, etc. It’s spooky creepy mashed up with a lot of flapper talk.
Have a great weekend, Quinn!
Thanks for stopping by my post 🙂

Sugar & Snark
Cool! In what part of ZA are you? My husband used to work with a bank there, and I’ve been twice. Second time we lived in Sandton for about a month.
HMM..the last book that did that to me was Down to You..yummy!
Ooh, I don’t know that one! I will have to check that out.
Happy weekend to you!
I recently bought Third Grave Dead Ahead. Considering how much I liked the first two, I’m sure I’ll like the rest of the books, too! Glad you liked it!
New follower.
My F&F.
Some series, the quality of the plot seems to drop off after the first couple. I still think the Charley Davidson series is really good.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
Hi! New follower here! 🙂 Anyway, you’ve got a lot of great books here, that I should really look into sometime. Thanks so much!
