Each week, in addition to a question to answer, one of the previous week’s participants will be randomly selected by each host for an interview (hence the Feature portion of the meme). This week’s featured bloggers are Shiloh Walker and Cherie Reads.
Here’s this week’s question:
What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?
That’s a hard one. I like so many different genres, from Adult to Young Adult to New Adult; all kinds of fiction, including literature, chick lit, mysteries, fantasy, paranormal, science fiction; and non-fiction as well (especially biographies). I have read some erotica, but I don’t feel guilty about reading that – just usually dissatisfied.
If you’d asked me this question over a year ago, I would have said Young Adult, but that’s before I realized how many adults read and blog about this genre. Ten years ago, it would have been Chick Lit. But now? The only thing that might come close to being a “guilty pleasure” would be series, like the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris or the Chicagoland Vampire series by Chloe Neill (hmmm…are vampire books my gp?). Even then, I certainly don’t feel guilty about any reading. At all. Period.
