Each week, in addition to a question to answer, one of the previous week’s participants will be randomly selected by each host for an interview (hence the Feature portion of the meme). This week’s featured bloggers are Book Sniffers Anonymous and Insightful Minds Reviews.
Here’s this week’s question:
Tell us about the most emotional scene you’ve ever read in a book and how did you react?
You guys really come up with some thought-provoking questions…
Lots of books make me cry…The Fault in Our Stars, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Hunger Games. But the one that has stuck with me most over the years?
I remember reading By the Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder. All the Little House books were so huge when I was a kid. Of all the series, this is the only one that I read once and never read again. SPOILER ALERT, everyone dies or gets sick or goes blind. Or gets sick AND goes blind. Well, OK, not everyone, but Jack, the stalwart Jack Russell, dies and Mary, the well-behaved eldest sister gets scarlet fever and loses her sight. On top of that, they cut off all of Mary’s beautiful blonde hair while she’s ill and Laura is shocked and says she looked just like a <gasp!> boy. Every volume had their ups and downs, but this one was such a downer that I skipped over it every time.
What about you?
