Each week, in addition to a question to answer, one of the previous week’s participants will be randomly selected by each host for an interview (hence the Feature portion of the meme). This week’s featured bloggers are Once Upon a Coffin and ParaDays.
Here’s this week’s question:
What do you do with your books after you’re done reading them?
I collect books, so I rarely “get rid” of a book. There used to be an unwritten rule (mine) that I had to keep all books purchased/gifted, but I purged a bunch last summer when we were getting new floors. I had to box up all of my books, and as I was doing that, I came across some that didn’t deserve to stay (usually a book purchased at the airport) or that I’d bought so long ago and never read…a really, really knew that I was not going to ever open.
I used to buy everything I read, and usually in hardback so they’d look pretty in my living room. These days, because I read a lot, I couldn’t afford to do that. Many are checked out of the library, and I get numerous ebooks that I keep on my tablet (not as satisfying to display and peruse, but great for saving space).
We don’t have as many built-in bookshelves at this house, so I have to be careful. The hubs NEVER purges, ’cause he’s a big re-reader. I think it’s time to get rid of the ten-year-old travel books to make room for some waiting to be shelved.
What about you?
