Free Verse Re. My Hatred of the Ending of ‘Allegiant’ by Veronica Roth

While cleaning up the ol’ Goodreads shelves, I saw that this book was still in my “Read But Not Reviewed” folder. So it has taken me a while, but here it is.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

I don’t usually review the end books in a series due to potential spoilers and whatnot. I really enjoyed the first two books (and even went to the movie), but I cannot tell you how much the ending PISSED ME OFF. The author can clap her hands all she wants and exclaim that that’s life or that she WANTS me to be angry and feel things, but NO. I have no problem with major (main) characters dying, but this felt forced, awkward, fake, the big middle finger…and did I mention that I am still mad?

Honestly? I feel ripped off and that I wasted all of the time that I invested in the series. Yep. I do. I really, really do. And the only reason that I rated it 3 stars was out of respect for the entire series. And up until the end, this was was doing just fine.

When does her next book come out, anyway? I’m asking for a friend.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth was published October 22, 2013 by Katherine Tegen Books. Ink and Page picked this up from the library.
