The Sunday Post 2.10.2013

The Sunday Post MemeThis is a fun meme started by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. As she says:

~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Here’s the awesomeness that you read, ingested, missed, hated, loved, {whatever} last week:

First of all, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who is following my blog and following me on Twitter. Those are the two “follows” where I assess my total self-worth, so to have over 100 blog followers and over 1,000 Twitter followers makes me feel all super skweenchy inside (that’s a good thing, btdubs). And, unless you’re trying to sell me weight lost products, sex toys or social media services, I will at least follow you back on Twitter.

  1. The Sunday Post 2.3.2013. I was such a good little girl this week. Yessiree. I think I did everything I said I would! (Didn’t I?)
  2. On Monday, I posted my review of Splintered by A.G. Howard (a fellow Texan!). If you’re a fan of the original Alice in Wonderland, nonsense and the opposite of nonsense…there’s something special behind that fab cover.
  3. Tuesday is Top Ten Tuesday, and this week’s topic: Top Ten Best Bookish Memories. Read and see if you have any of the same ones!
  4. Since I received an ARC of Ally Carter’s new book Double Crossed, and since it is a mash-up of characters from her Gallagher Girls series and Heist Society series, and since I haven’t read any of the Heist Society books yet, that’s exactly what I did…and here’s my review of Heist Society. Phew. That’s a long sentence (3 dependent clauses and 1 independent clause? Sorry…that’s what my kid is working on in English right now.)
  5. I did one ARR this week of a book called Foxblood: A Brush With the Moon by Raquel Lyon.
  6. The question in this week’s Feature and Follow Friday was fun and timely: If they were throwing the HOTTEST books off of a Mardis Gras float, what would you do to have them throw to you?
  7. Lastly, I did make it through my reading of Where She Went by Gayle Forman without totally losing it. Short version of my review: loved it.
  8. I updated my 2013 Challenges post to include a new challenge. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun, as there is a game board and a die involved (see #6 in that post).

Since I have so much to read for next Tuesday (four, count ’em, four books I am reading are released that day), I didn’t participate in “Waiting On” Wednesday this week. Also, I have decided to make my meme, Songs of the Week an occasional thing. I have another BRILLIANT idea for a meme that I will reveal sometime in the next month or so. Tee hee!

Books in Film

Who is excited about Thursday’s release of Beautiful Creatures? Is anyone making their significant other take them for Valentine’s Day (or vice-versa)?

Whaddya Get?

Trying to stick to my book sobriety program this week, I only fell off the wagon once this week. I got Whistling Past the Graveyard by Susan Crandall. Thanks to Galley Books and NetGalley.

So…What’s Coming Up?

  1. Today’s The Sunday Post is almost done…I will post soon! Hopefully you will read and at LEAST follow me on Twitter…would love for you to leave a comment here if you are now following my blog or Twitter.
  2. I need to finish two more books for Tuesday’s posts (yes, I said posts). There will be at least four, and if I participate in Top Ten Tuesday as well…let’s just say I hope you don’t hate seeing my name in your inbox that day.
  3. I have plans to read/review/post the following books as well: Dissever by Colee Firman; Disfunctional Romance! by Derick Hudson; and Geek Girl by Holly Smale.
  4. As for my weekly memes…hopefully I will have time to participate in Top Ten Tuesday and Feature and Follow Friday as well as “Waiting On” Wednesday.
  5. I will definitely see you next week for The Sunday Post!

Leave a link to your post or a comment about what you’re up to this week! I always like to make detours…

    1. I was so meh about the book, and the movie trailers look like a hot mess to me. That whole business with Link’s mom/Sarafine looks like it is a lot more than it was in the book. Please tell me if I’m wrong and shouldn’t just a movie by its book and trailer…
