I Am Soooo Happy!

I got hooked last fall on the MTV series Awkward. I hadn’t heard of it before, and it was already into its second season. It’s a snarky, gawky, irreverent and heartfelt look at high school, fitting in and figuring yourself out. Jenna Hamilton is the main character who is torn between Matty McKibben and Jake Rosati. Jenna has a blog (what?) and tells things about how she’s feeling in a voice-over.

Jenna and Matty Awkward

There are some great, well-developed secondary characters, too, which, if you know me at all, is one of my peeves (two-dimensional secondary characters being that peeve, not well-developed ones). There’s Jenna’s best friend, Tamara, who spouts some of the best slang known to mankind. Jenna’s other bff is Ming, a slacker-y child of strict Chinese parents. Then there’s Sadie, mean, cheerleading b**ch who loves to give advice. Jenna’s mom, Valerie Marks, the counselor/vice principal…I could go on and on. Catch it if you think you’d like it! They have all the previous episodes as well as some hilarious webisodes on the MTV website.

Have a great week, everyone!

    1. We started watching Fringe when it was first on. I don’t know why I stopped – I think my husband continued for a while, but I think he forgot about it. I remember it being a good show.

      Have a great week, Jenea!

  1. I have been meaning to read Entwined for a couple years now! I love fairytale retellings, and 12 Dancing Princesses is a favorite of mine. I own a copy of the book, but still haven’t gotten to it. I don’t know what is taking me so long!

I recently started watching Awkward but I’m not far into the first season. I like it too. 🙂

    1. I think I’ll read Entwined after The Eternity Cure. It was chosen for me for a book challenge I am doing. Maybe you should start it tomorrow or Wednesday with me??

There are a bunch of Tumblr pages dedicated to Awkward. Fun! But here’s the big question…are you Team Matty or Team Jake?
