What do I read now?? How to Choose Your Next Book

When you read a really good book, it is hard to close it. When I was a kid, if I finished a book that was truly incredible, I would stare at the cover, not wanting to leave that world, loathe to let go of characters and a place that I had felt I was truly a part of. These days, especially in the Middle Grades or Young Adult genres, you don’t have to quit and try to move on, since so many stories have become series. But what if your new fave is a single, or you’ve come to the end of a string of books? What then?

Many of us have a stack of TBR titles that reach the ceiling, so we just pick something new and try to move on. But if that’s truly not an option, Goodreads is a great place to start looking for something similar to what you have just finished. Amazon has now started asking those of us who have posted reviews on their site (and Amazon now owns Goodreads) for ideas for that next read. We at Ink and Page would like for bloggers, authors and other book lovers to have a voice in this as well. So…

I am proposing that every week, I will post an interview with a book person, and the interviewee will choose a book they liked and give a suggestion as to what is similar that they also enjoyed. Alternatively, Ink and Page can choose a book from their Goodreads list that they gave high marks to and the interviewee can pick the second book. Questions will be asked, and you will be invited to post what YOU think is a similar read that you liked. Put a link to your blog post in the comments so everyone can check it out (or the Linky if I do one of those).

And authors, if you choose to participate, you may not choose one of your own books, sorry. Find a friend who wants to promote your book instead!

You will be asked to follow Ink and Page and the subject of the interview, and links to purchase the books and follow the authors will be included.

If you would like to be interviewed, please post a link to your blog or Goodreads page in the comments below, or send an email to: audrey@inkandpage.me. Your books can be of any genre; however, if a book is chosen that Ink and Page deems to be inappropriate for this site, I will ask you to choose something else. So, no books that are religious or hateful in nature (including political books) or out-and-out porn (I apologize to those of you who are offended that these topics are included in the same sentence).

I look forward to creating this with you!
