Please welcome Isabel, a book blogger who writes for her blog, Tween 2 Teen Book Reviews.
My name is Isabel, and I am a teenage bookaholic. Seriously though, I am in love with books. I read all kinds of YA, but my favorite is paranormal/fantasy. My blog mostly centers around book reviews, but I also do feature posts for some of my favorite books. I’ve had the blog for just over two years now, which feels like an awesome accomplishment! I do write, but am not yet published. Unless you count a weird paragraph/short story I wrote in third grade. I am a student, but I also partially work at my local indie bookstore! For fun, books. Always books. Every once and a while texting my weirdo friends. I stalk many, many people, too many to name, really. Some of my favorites are: Wendy Higgins, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Ryan Graudin, Michelle Hodkin, and Cassandra Clare.
Isabel has chosen the following two books to talk about today:
FIRST I READ THIS:
What happens if a demon has child with a human? You get a nephilim. There are demonic ‘dukes’ of various sins, including gluttony, substance abuse, and lust. The male protagonist, Kaidan, happens to be the son of the demon of lust. Things sometimes get interested. The female protagonist Anna is the daughter of the demon of substance abuse and an angel, something that the demons wouldn’t like very much if they found out. I discovered this book a few years ago before it came out. I remember seeing it online and immediately wanting it. The plot intrigued me, and once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters. They are all so much fun, especially a bunch that you meet towards the middle of the story! Sweet Evil is a fun book, but also has many serious undertones.
SO THEN I READ THIS:
White Hot Kiss is similar in style to Sweet Evil. Jennifer L. Armentrout is a master at writing fun and flirty YA fiction. The main character, Layla, is the daughter of a demon and a gargoyle. Yes, gargoyle. This is probably the only book that I have read with gargoyles, and it was perfect! I’d read the author’s previous works before picking up this, but this is easily the best one yet. White Hot Kiss looked like the perfect read for me, and I was right. If this all hasn’t sucked you in, try to resist this. The male protagonist is Roth. He has a snake tattoo named Bambi. Bambi will come alive and eat people. Happy reading! 🙂
